Skepticism, Critical Thinking, and Pop Culture

Post  Don on Sun Jan 10, 2010 5:52 pm

This panel will be put on by the moderators and is a modified, streamlined, and hopefully far more awesome version of last year's that kicked it all off.

Title: Skepticism, Critical Thinking, and Pop Culture
Brief Description: Join a team of enthusiastic skeptics and skeptical bloggers as we take you on a roller coaster ride through all sorts of pop culture paranormal phenomena and pseudoscience! From Bigfoot to ghosts to medical quackery, it'll be a veritable tour-de-force of paranormalism, and we'll even make time to talk about the methods and practices of good science and critical thinking. Come for the talk, stay for the "Stump the Skeptics" Q&A!
Speakers: Don Riefler, Tom Foss, Sean Bennett, Rob Gilham-Westerman (soon to be Rob Wolf), Jon Maxson
Date: Friday/Saturday August 5/6, time is variable
Length: 2 hours
Equipment Needed: Laptop, projector, screen, microphone (we will likely have our own laptop and projector and may just need the screen)
