Smeazel's Intro... Empty Smeazel's Intro...

Post  Smeazel Sat Jan 02, 2010 6:28 pm

Hey, my name's Jeff, and I'm a long-time role-player who's been to Gen Con three times (well, been to Gen Con Indy three times; also been to Gen Con So Cal a few times while it was still running). As for my skeptic bona fides... I was raised Mormon, and in retrospect am kind of ashamed at how long it took me to finally admit to myself that I had no good reason to believe in any of it and break away from the church. Curiously, for what it's worth, I'd long before that been a skeptic about pretty much everything else except religion... but it just took me a long time to cast off that last chain. Wink I'm currently actively involved with the Center For Inquiry - Los Angeles, and a member of the Independent Investigations Group.

Anyway, let's see, what else to say... okay, I'm an actor... not making enough to make a living at it, but I've been in a few things, albeit nothing anyone's likely to have heard of (incidentally, if you follow that link and notice it goes to a page about an actor not named "Jeff", that's because I act under a stage name). Oh, and I have a master's degree in physics, for whatever that's worth... Also do a number of other things, but I guess that's probably enough for now...

Dude, never be ashamed of how long it took you to see through the bs of the religion you were raised in. It's ingrained and hard to get through. I watch my man go through this all the time, and he still lapses. Don't appologize.
